I’m writing a book! (In fact I plan to write at least two, but one at a time please, ladies and gentlemen …)
The book is about the future of universities.
As I write – February 2017, in the UK – universities are subject to many pressures. Where will future students and staff come from? Who will pay for teaching and research? What sort of organisation gets to be a university? How does changing technology change universities’ operating models? These are pressing questions.
My particular interest is on university professional services. More than two in five of all people who work in universities work in professional services in one way or another. From porters and gardeners through to senior managers; from generalist administrators to specialists in HR, finance, IT; all play a role in making universities work.
My book will address how universities will develop and the impact of this on the professional services. I’ll be using this site to share things I find out along the way – check out the blog for that.
And thanks for reading!
